Armchair as an Exercise Device
I was just browsing a few furniture blogs and I came across one which had a item of furniture which was also an exercise device That’s right, you could actually keep fit whilst just being in your living room. What I want to suggest is a few idea which could keep you fit whilst sitting down.
You can do these exercises whilst at home, on the bus or in the office.
Stretching your wrists
Keep one of your arms extended and palms facing up, grab your fingers with the other hand. Gently pull down your hands which will stretch your forearm – repeat with the other arm.
Back Twist
Sit upright in your armchair and put your left arm behind your hip. Whilst twisting to each side, make sure you hold the position for 4 seconds at least.
Inner thigh
You can exercise the inner thigh by putting a bottle of water in between the knees and keeping your abs in, squeeze the bottle with your knees – repeat several times.
Leg Lift
A Leg lifts can be done anytime, and any place. It is important that you tense your bottom muscles, whether you are raising your legs to the front or knees straight. You can also achieve good results by simply clenching and relaxing your bottom whilst sitting down. This will help you to keep your bottom in great shape.
So there are a few ideas for keeping fit even if you are sat at home watching TV
I would point out that even though you are only doing these simple exercises in the comfort of your own home, you should still take the time to warm up before you attempt to do any of them. If you start to feel dizzy when you are doing them, please stop, and lastly, make sure you do a good stretching exercise before and after you do a workout.
