Mma Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian jiu-jitsu (also referred to as BJJ) is a combat sport. It is a very important aspect of mixed martial arts. Like all combat sports physical conditioning of the athletes is very important. Depending upon the sport a person may fight continuously for some minutes. There are drills and exercises that are very utile in devising top physical condition.

Because contest takes place continuously for the duration of a round as opposed to two minute rounds with 1 minute breaks, as in boxing. Conditioning for the needs to be geared towards a remainder amidst anaerobic and aerobic fitness with the goal of putting out greatest or most complete or best possible energy for 5 minutes (the mutual length of a MMA fight round and BJJ fight).

When one considers constructing an exercise program for combat sports a person needs to keep in mind that type of conditions and demands that will be placed upon the athlete.

First of all, there’s no point in training a fighter to be a long endurance athlete. Fights specifically last 5 minutes per round, if there are rounds. Nor does it make sense to train a fighter as if he or she is a power lifter. There has to be that blend of speed, strength with a rectify ratio of endurance mixed in.

For this type of work out to be effective for combat BJJ athletes the workout program must entail a series of intense action with short periods of rest customized to the sport and the length of competition. For this circuit training which entails the movements necessitated for Brazilian jiu-jitsu will better serve the competitory athlete.
