Elliptical Trainer Exercise

Health wise, I was going strong into my early 50s. Lifting weights, running a 10 K each other day, I was sentiment and looking good. Then one day after running, I found I could hardly walk. This did not come on all of a sudden, but gradually. I had ignored the early symptoms, but when it got to this point, I went to the doctor.

The doctor took various x-rays of my feet, knees, and other joints. The diagnosis he concluded, was arthritis. Well that ended my running days. So what was I to do to keep with my cardiovascular exercises. The weights I lifted did not bother me, for lifting with my upper body and lower body did not affect me. I just could not do the cardiovascular exercises I was used to do. I started looking around for exercises that were low affect (endurance exercises) and permitted me to do range of motion exercises for flexibility. I wanted it to be similar to the running I used to do.

I found it in a machine called an elliptical trainer. This is a machine that fits in just in regards to anyone’s home. Essentially it is like a stationary bike, only you stand up, and with your arms, push forward on the handles and basically run. With this device, I may get my heart rate going like I did when I was younger. Even better, with all the crusade I put into it, my joints, specially my feet, are not affected by this exercise.
