College Rowing Recruiting

College Rowing has a long tradition within college athletics and is in matter of fact the oldest sport in college athletics. However to get recruited to row in college is very hard since it is on a very high level, the schools that have college rowing program are also often world class programs.

If your goal is to get recruited with a college rowing scholarship the options decreases a lot, especially for male rowers since the schools that offer rowing scholarships are very few.  Several college rowers have represented their university and country in the Olympics.

College Rowing programs compete both in fall and spring; fall season is mostly focused on building the rowers for the spring which is the primary competition season. The winter often works as an intense period to prepare for the spring season. Spring is the primary season for college rowing and there are many dual meets between schools and sometimes several schools.

Some tips for your college rowing recruiting process is to post your scores at usrowing.org and attend summer rowing camps.
